The EP Upon A Bloodied Earth, by Ankoth, a one person project by the metal artist, composer and producer, Shadow Von Nyx. The EP takes the listener through some of the darkest depths of the mortal realm, existence and the mindscape, in a brutally crafted cascade of Thrash Metal, Symphonic Prog Metal and Ambient Metal, amongst others. This EP Tells the story of an alien life form that was lost deep in hyperspace, until it's spacecraft picked up dark broadcasts from the planet known as Earth. There it crashed and was marooned on the planet, trying to blend in with its inhabitants, and terrified, seeing how bloodthirsty and vicious the inhabitants were, and how brutal and unforgiving life on earth was. The creature struggled to fit in and was ridiculed for its differences and mistreated, to the point of considering to take its own life, becoming nihilistic and hateful towards society to the point that it resorted to hurting itself, knowing full well it will be punished should it try to hurt its oppressors. Then one day, the creature simply seemed to have vanished from existence. Nobody knew where it went or what happened to it. All that was found was a tape cassette that played back a heavily encrypted message, that stated "Memento Mori" meaning "remember you will die" in Latin - essentially stating that no matter how powerful, tough or big one is, and no matter how badly you make everyone around you seem weak, small and helpless, even the biggest and toughest of us will fall and die one day, for we are all mortal. The EP ends with an instrumental which features an "evil voice of hate" speaking hateful words, dividing mankind further, only to bring about a stellar eclipse - the end of all things, where mankind's divisive and evil nature causes its demise and the destruction of the cosmos.
