I have improved many skills, In the BBP, I worked on a Sympho-Industrial Thrash metal piece, improving my composition skills, and with a stripped down approach, as opposed to all in, full blast at once. My Song had a much more structured shape and sounded very clear, due to things working together. I learned a new scale, the F# locrian scale. I mixed two bands’ pieces, learned some controls on certain effects, for example, the Wet/Dry knob on reverb. Also triggering drums, a technique common in metal. In the genre spotlight project, having focused on electronic music, we studied Hip Hop and House music. My research skills improved and my composition skills by composing demos in both genres, enabling me to compose other genres. Also how to beat match samples. My keyboard skills, developed by recording into BandLab. I also improved my vocal skills and confidence , by recording vocals . Furthermore, shout/scream vocals for the lead vocal of the symphonic metal song. I also attempted gutturals. I also improved my sense of rhythm, timing and percussion skills, having recorded some percussion into my piece. The concept and aim of my project will involve aspects of music production.I would like to work on my music composition, as well as recording myself, and writing songs, making my own pieces on Logic X Pro. I also will be mixing my pieces and the pieces of the other bands, as well as being a live mixer during the show, working off a mixing desk. All the research and ideas that I have been working on throughout the year, will play a part in my FMP. During the past year, through my research, I have been developing my own ideas in composition, furthermore, gained more ideas about music composition, while at the same time, developing the skills of a professional music producer. In my FMP, as well as mixing and mastering the band(s), I would like to also compose. I will do this for the empty slots, where there are no bands. I do realise that there is a limited time scale for the FMP. In a perfect world, since I compose all the time in my spare time, I could probably make at least 4 songs by the end of the deadline. It is important to reflect and evaluate my work, as an ongoing activity, as well as a conclusion to the project. I intend to record my decision making on my Blog, on the Wix Site. This will show evidence of progress and document any changes and advancements in my project. Proposed research sources and bibliography (Harvard format)Reference tracks Playlists: R. Metal Albums.
